‘American Idol’ season two runner-up Clay Aiken’s new album ‘A Thousand Different Ways’ goes on sale Tuesday, September 19th and will feature the new single, ‘Without You’. Participating stores will stay open late on the night of Monday, September 18th, allowing fans to buy Clay’s CD at the stroke of midnight. Party activities will vary by store but will include music and raffles. Retailers nationwide include WalMart, Virgin Megastores, Barnes & Noble, Tower Records, Wherehouse Music and Borders, among others. To find a party by region, visit clayaikencdparties.com. Fans of Aiken have been disappointed in the pre-release publicity for the disc, with no sign yet of a video for the new single, and very little print coverage. Additionally, Aiken has reportedly mandated that his ‘Good Morning America’ appearance be a performance only. The low-profile behavior, very unusual for a pop artist releasing new material, appears to be an effort by the singer to avoid being questioned about John Paulus, who alleges he had a sexual encounter with the singer at a North Carolina Quality Inn in January.
