July 10, 2003 – ‘American Idol’ judge Simon Cowell phoned into Jam’n 94.5 in Boston and was asked by hosts Ramiro and Pebbles about the sexual persuasion of Clay, and whether Mr. Nasty, who has dealt with gay rumors himself, thought Clay was gay. “Yeah, if I had to hazard a guess, yeah,” Simon responded. “Either that or he’s the campest straight guy on Earth.”

July 9, 2003 – The Minneapolis Star Tribune was on hand for the ‘American Idol’ tour kickoff at X on Tuesday, where Sara Kosiorek was receiving a lot of attention. Clay pointed to her, and several other fans recognized her from a picture she took with Aiken. Then someone from Us Weekly spoke with her. “I’m thinking ‘My picture is all over the Internet,'” she said after being recognized, and getting nervous about making the younger girls jealous. “Then a guy from Us magazine came over and said, I heard you met Clay. I said, ‘I’m going to just throw up on you right now if you don’t tell me you heard that from somebody here.’ He said, Yeah, those girls over there.”

July 7, 2003 – In an interview published in the latest issue of celebrity magazine ‘Heat,’ ‘American Idol’ judge Simon Cowell said it did not matter whether Prince William, who is second in line to the British throne, could sing or not, he has the goods to be a pop star. “Prince William would make a great pop idol. Simon Cowell Predicts Fox Will Settle His Contract Soon

June 26, 2003 – Howard Stern quizzed Simon Cowell yesterday about how much it would take for him to return as the nasty judge on ‘American Idol’ for a third season. When Stern suggested $10 million, Cowell responded, “Yeah.” Later, he told the New York Daily News, “If he had said $50 million, I would have said yes. It was 6:30 in the morning. He could have said the Martians had landed.” He predicted that he and Fox could reach an agreement for him to come back to hit Fox show within a week.
