Conan’s Quips On Jacko & Spears

Conan O’Brien joked during his monologue Tuesday, “Earlier tonight on CBS — I don’t know who saw this — ’s special aired where he reunites with his brothers. Great. It was an amazing show. Yeah, at the end of the show, Michael thanked his brothers for performing with him. And Tito thanked the Olive Garden for giving him the night off.” Later, O’Brien cracked, “This week, is gonna be performing a live concert from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. And to publicize the event, there’s a 30-story cutout of Britney hanging outside the hotel. 30 stories high. It’s amazing. Yeah, not only that, there’s currently 30 guys climbing her left one.”

More Bashing Of Tonight’s Jacko Special

November 13, 2001 – Mike Ross of the Edmonton Sun is adding his take on tonight’s Michael Jackson: 30th Anniversary Special, tonight on CBS. Ross says, “Jackson faithfully reproduces the dance moves in solo hits like Billie Jean. Yup, he’s still got it, although ‘it’ hasn’t changed much in the last decade.” As for Jacko grabbing his crotch to begin his set, Ross asks, “How about something new? In the words of his sister, what have you done for me lately?”

Michael Jackson To Co-Direct Movie In Toronto

November 13, 2001 – The Toronto Sun reports Michael will work with director Bryan Michael Stoller on a new film scheduled to begin next summer entitled, “Home Of The Angels.” Stoller said of the collaboration, “We really hit it off. We’re both introverts. We both are big kids, definitely, and we both were child stars.”

November 12, 2001 – The Chicago Sun Times’ Phil Rosenthal is chiming in on the Michael Jackson 30th Anniversary Celebration set to air Tuesday. Phil says, “Even by Wacko Jacko standards, the two-hour special, culled from a pair of marathon all-star September shows at New York’s Madison Square Garden, has a stunningly inauthentic, insincere and bizarre feel–and that’s saying something considering what the self-described King of Pop has morphed into.”

McFadden Previews Jackson Show

November 12, 2001 – Seattle Times television critic Kay McFadden rips into the Michael Jackson 30th Anniversary Special airing tomorrow at 9 PM on CBS. McFadden flashes back to 10 years ago when Pee Wee’s Playhouse was cancelled by CBS following his indecent exposure charge in Florida and wonders, “And now CBS is giving prime time to a man once accused of pedophilia, a waning star whose previous album came out six years ago. Who says television executives aren’t willing to experiment?” As for the comeback itself, Kay wonders “if Jackson’s heart is in all this, and whether there is any truth to the rumors that financial need is causing his re-emergence. Just one cut from his new CD is aired.”

Michael Jackson Plans To Home School Children

November 12, 2001 –’s Amy Reiter reports Michael plans to home school his 4 year old son and 3 year old daughter at his ‘Neverland’ estate. Jackson says, “I’m going to build a computer school on the grounds. How can they go into society? He’s Prince Michael Jackson. She’s Paris Katherine Michael Jackson. It would be too difficult.”
