Neva Chonin of the San Francisco Chronicle profiled the success of Creed which Rolling Stone senior editor Jason Fine said has been derived by teenybopper fans of *NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys looking for a more ‘mature’ sound. Fine said, “Like *NSYNC, Creed is very savvy and convincing in what they do. They’re a big, old-school rock band going for a giant sound that seemed corny and over-the-top to the last generation. This type of rock music has been seeping up for the last few years organically, and we’re seeing the results of that now as the teen pop thing may be starting to fade.” Read more.
