DA: Madonna Wasn’t Cooperative In Stalking Case
L.A. Deputy District Attorney Rhonda Saunders spoke with The New York Daily News about how difficult it was to get Madonna to testify against her stalker, Robert Dewey Hoskins, who threatened to cut her throat from ear to ear. “I actually had to have the LAPD stake out her house,” Saunders said. “They let me know when she was back, and then I got a subpoena. I had to get a judge to order a $5 million ‘body attachment’ on her (an arrestlike warrant for recalcitrant witnesses). I asked her why she had made it so difficult for us, and her response was very telling. She said, ‘Because by my coming to court, he’s now sitting within 15 feet of me.
