Lights Widget

checked in with fans on her blog at MySpace on Sunday (November 16) after posting a new widget. The Canadian indie pop singer tells readers:

For starters… I think “widget” is my new favorite word. I don’t know why, it just rules.
That being said, I totally have a sweet widget for you to use if you feel like representing for me!

“What is a widget” you ask?

Well, a widget is like a super-high-tech banner. It features my music video and also has links to my blogs, photos, store, website, as well as a sweet spaceship-navigation panel. If you click on random stuff it will take you random places (ie. a click on one of the gauges will take you to Lance’s prof!). And the best thing about it is it automatically updates itself. So when I post a new music video for example (hint hint… coming soon!) it will automatically change on the widget.

And I wanted to do an extra shout out to those who have stood up for me when someone writes me a lousy comment! I read those sometimes and it bums me out. But I get super stoked and warm inside when other people stand up for me. Thankyou! You know who you are I’m sure :)

Warner Music Releases Amiel Daemion From Her Contract

Well it took some time but I did it!…

After lengthy negotiations with my (former) label I have been fully released from my contract and am no longer bound by the exclusive terms…

It may sound strange to all you budding artists out there – that I would try for so long to get out of my contract – when you would give anything just to get one…

But there are indeed, always two sides to every coin.

Mandy Jiroux Confirms YouTube Account Hacked, Miley Cyrus OK

Mandy Jiroux updated fans on her MySpace page on Sunday, reacting to her and ’ YouTube account being hacked, and a video uploaded falsely claiming the ‘Hannah Montana’ star had been killed by a drunk driver. Mandy writes:

Someone hacked the Miley and Mandy YouTube account and we can’t get back into it just yet!! MILEY IS OK!!

Sofia Talvik ‘Clown’ Video

is out with a DIY video for her single ‘Clown’ from the Swedish singer songwriter’s third album ‘Jonestown’, out now on her Makaki Music label. Talvik writes, “This time I decided I would do it all by myself. So I did all the make-up and styling and filmed it (yes I used a camera stand). Then I cut it and edited it. But I’m not ready to throw away Jonas’ fabulous producer skills just yet, I did have him help me creating the ‘burn-out’ effect on the last few frames of the vid ;-) This is the first music video I’ve ever made and the second video I’ve made.. ever.” Watch it below.

Miley Cyrus YouTube Channel Hacked, Death Rumor Uploaded

The YouTube channel ‘mileymandy’, which is the official account of with her friend Mandy Jiroux, has apparently fallen victim to a hacker, who uploaded a video clip claiming the ‘Hannah Montana’ star had died. The video, claiming to have a message from Jiroux, states:

Hey guys, this is Mandy and I have some very sad news :(

We’re hurt to tell everyone this, but Miley died this morning after being hit by a drunk driver.

Miley told us if anything ever happened to her then we should let her fans know first before the public.

R.I.P honey, we miss you so much.

This past tour was my absolute favorite tour!!! The Elbow crew is amazing!!! Friends for life!!! Each day such laughter!!! A gorgeous bunch. The cities, the food, the shows, all ACE. I’m terribly sad that I am now so far away from them all and one in particular. But let’s not be pathetic about it. Rather let’s feel overjoyed by the blessing and savour this bitter sweet circumstance until time brings us together again as it always does for true friends.

DJ AM Texts Mandy Moore At Ultimat Vodka LA Launch

The National Enquirer reports that while DJ AM was spinning music at the Ultimat Vodka LA Launch at The Kress the other night, the 35-year-old was texting his on-again girlfriend with loving messages. “You could tell from his face he was beyond excited about it,” an eyewitness told the tabloid. “It was really quite adorable!” Read more.

Sugababes Discuss Their New Single ‘No Can Do’

spoke with ITN Music about their new single ‘No Can Do’, which Amelle Berrabah described as “a song about men who just treat you like poo poo.” As for the potential of the single facing off against ‘X Factor’ releases, Keisha Buchanan said, “To be honest with you, it’s always a competition anyway.
