Mariah Carey Switches On Christmas Lights In London

switched on the Christmas lights at London’s Westfield Shopping Mall on Thursday night (November 19). The singer spoke with ITN at the event, discussing the festive atmosphere at the event, missing ‘The X Factor’ because of her busy schedule, to expect a lot of ballads and sexy songs on the new CD ‘Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel’ (it’s released Monday in the UK), and loving Christmas. Nicol Wraps Up Tour With Alesha Dixon

Hope everything is good. So it’s the end of tour am sad. I am really gonna miss being on the road and getting to meet all the amazing people I’ve met- Alesha was so welcoming on this tour and such an amazing inspiration to be around! Last night’s Brighton Dome was incredible, me & my band (Sam- guitar/ Crossy-drums) loved everything about it & all you guys throughout every date have been so awesome.- loved the glow sticks guys-! The radio tour has been a lot of fun interviewing as well & am really can’t wait for the single release on Monday of ‘Fall Down’ on iTunes. Everyone buy it and help me chart!

Michelle Branch Keeps Extremely Busy

checked in with fans on her official web site on Thursday (November 19), talking about how she’s been keeping busy lately. The singer songwriter tells readers:

I know it seems super quiet around here but believe me, I’ve been keeping extremely busy!! I just got back from Minneapolis and Omaha where I had two really great shows. Thanks to everyone who came out and to KS95 and Q98-5 for having me.

Last week was CMA week and I was not immune to the craziness. I had a great time meeting up with all the radio stations who were in town and I also got to hang with some of my buddies who I don’t get to see that often. The CMA show was so much fun but the after parties were the highlight. I needed two full days to recuperate this year! In fact, I’m kicking myself now but I was supposed to go to the premiere of The Blind Side the following day but I opted for my P.J’s and watching T.V. in bed. :) I also went to the most amazing and inspirational dinner. Emmylou Harris hosted an event for the NRDC on behalf of Music Saves Mountains, spreading the word about the horrible practice of mountain top removal in the Appalachia.

Frankie Sandford Shares Her The Variety Club Awards Experience

Frankie Sandford of checked in with fans on the girl group’s blog at MySpace on Friday (November 20) after the presented an award for the very first time. The 20-year-old singer writes:

We went to The Variety Club Awards on Sunday night as some of you may know. It was our first awards evening and the first award we have ever been asked to present. I was so nervous because I had the longest part of the speech to deliver. Get me up to sing and dance any day, but public speaking, that’s another story! Ha. I made sure I memorized all my words even though we were assured there would be an auto cue.

Our stylist Robert turned up a few hours before the red carpet with our outfits, so until then we had no idea what we would be wearing! As soon as he pulled my Swarovski covered dress out the bag I knew it was for me! It was so heavy even though it had millions of holes all over it! There was a bit of an underwear situation so a last minute dash to Selfridges was made to get the smallest thong they had and a row of diamantes to sew on to it! There was no way I was going commando!

Jess Stickley Blogs About Attending Rihanna Show

Jess Stickley of Girls Can’t Catch blogged all about attending Rihanna’s exclusive concert in London the other night, including what she thinks of the Barbados singer’s new tracks, Rihanna’s special guest and meeting GCC fans afterwards. Jess writes:

On Monday Rihanna did a secret gig in London at the Brixton Academy and I was lucky enough to get my hands on a pair of tickets… What a gig it turned out to be!!!

She came on wearing a Beyoncé-style leotard and sporting her fab new blonde hairstyle which I LOVE! And she performed two of my fave new tracks of hers ‘The Wait Is Ova’ and ‘Russian Roulette’ and she had an awesome set on stage with a great live band and huge screen behind her!

But the night was set to get better and better…
