In an interview with ‘The Early Show’ on Thursday, ‘American Idol’ season seven runner-up David Archuleta told co-anchor Maggie Rodriguez his father Jeff is “a great guy”, despite reports suggesting he’s a stage dad who infuriated ‘Idol’ producers. “I really appreciate his support and all my family’s support,” Archuleta added. “You know, he’s given great advice, but he’s let me do my own thing. And it’s been great to have him there, just reminding me to keep grounded and remember what’s important.” The 17-year-old also performed a cover of Robbie Williams’ hit ‘Angels’ on the program.
