David Archuleta checked in with his Twitter followers (@DavidArchie) on Friday and earlier today after celebrating his mother Lupe’s birthday at the Utah Blaze arena football home opener in Salt Lake City, where he performed ‘A Little Too Not Over You’, ‘Crush’ and ‘Happy Birthday’ for his mom. The ‘American Idol’ season seven runner-up writes:

Had a fun time at the game! Great being with the family. Surprised my mom with the crowd singing happy birthday and a cake lol.

I heard that he slept only 2 hours a night before. As soon as he arrived at the airport, he was picked up by the organizer of the event, spent time with Jonah, 8 year-old from Make A Wish and helped the little boy have a memorable day. His voice was stronger ever although he was tired.
