In a recent Frontline report ‘The Way the Music Died’ music legend David Crosby criticized the current recording industry, Britney Spears being his prime example. He is quoted as stating, “When it all started, record companies — and there were many of them, and this was a good thing — were run by people who loved records…now record companies are run by lawyers and accountants.” He goes on to say, “Britney Spears has nothing to say and is about as deep as a birdbath.” The report includes history of the buisness, the MTV influence, and interviews from other industry insiders.
