The San Francisco Chronicle caught up with Dick Clark who is behind the American Music Awards which take place on January 13th. Asked about the image makeover by Christina Aguilera, who is performing at the show, he said, “I think, in all honesty, it’s a necessary move. Whether she’s gone too far with it is up to question. But both she and Britney and the boy bands have to grow up and move on.” Don’t look for the raunchy singer to perform in a bikini and chaps at the show though. “I think she will probably get a little tidied up,” Clark said. “I shouldn’t use ‘tidy’; I mean, covered up. For cable television and her videos she can get away with more, but this is broadcast television.” Read more.
