Chaunce Hayden of Steppin’ Out magazine spoke with the Donnas drummer Torry ‘Donna C’ Castellano and asked if she had a problem with the ‘Women in Rock’ Rolling Stone issue. “I’m totally a fan of Mary J. Blige and Britney [Spears], don’t get me wrong,” she said. “But I do think that the word ‘rock’ is blurred by their type of music. We play our own instruments, but there are others in that issue who pretend to play instruments and say they rock when that’s not really their kind of music. I think it makes us seem more fabricated to people and they don’t take us as seriously. That’s kind of difficult for us, but I’m not angry at those girls or anything. It’s just one of those things.”
