Elysa Gardner Praises Justin Timberlake After Toronto Abuse

USA Today’s music writer Elysa Gardner chatted with fans on the paper’s website earlier today and was asked about *NSYNC star Justin Timberlake getting pelted with water bottles and booed at the Rolling Stones SARS concert. “Well, that’s too bad, because I personally think Justin’s solo CD had better singles than anything the Stones have released in 20 years,” Gardner responded. But she stopped short of calling him the next Michael Jackson. “You know, I suspect Justin may be a bit more grounded than Michael, and I don’t see him devolving into tabloid fodder the way that MJ has,” she said. “On the other hand, as much as I liked Justin’s solo album, I don’t know if I’d quite put his performance skills on par with Michael’s, who in his prime was arguably the most gifted singer/dancer in the business.” Read more.
