An EMI insider tells the Scottish Daily Record that security for Robbie Williams new album ‘Escapology’ will be a priority. “There’s justifiable paranoia over Robbie’s new album. The label is aware of the trend among criminal gangs to pirate top-selling albums in an attempt to cream off thousands of sales at the expense of genuine copies,” the insider explained. “But security is at its tightest in the approach to Christmas. We would also warn fans that counterfeit copies are inferior in terms of sound quality as they are second or third generation copies, sleeve notes and the like are often missing. It’s a rip-off. We are, however, convinced we will be able to keep the product from being compromised in this way.”
