Dido tells Jane Stevenson of the Toronto Sun that the Eminem’s connection was definitely a blessing: “I love that track and he was great and I really enjoyed working with him, so it was all good.” She disagreed with the suggestion though that he influenced her as far as her new album’s noticeably darker lyrics are concerned. “Dark lyrics — I think they’ve always been there,” said Dido. “I’ve always been a pretty dark person inside a very happy one. I’ve always had that mix in my music and in my personality — sort of crashing lows and huge highs. And life, for me, is a contradiction, a lot of the times. It seems like from a lot of bad stuff comes really great stuff. And from good stuff some terrible stuff can happen too!”
