Emmy Rossum blogged about her scary run-in with pigeons while walking home earlier today in New York City. The actress/singer writes:
Strolling home from the gym, an iced Starbucks drink in my hand, minding my own business and enjoying the sun on my face, I was attacked by two pigeons! They must have thought I will a very large walking bread crumb or something, because they flew directly at my face and tried to land on my shoulders. What am I, Mary Poppins? If I wasn’t so freaked out and flailing around hysterically on the corner of 65th street, I might have broken into song “Feed the birds, toppence a bag!”
Passers by on the street stared at me with a mixture of relief (that it wasn’t them being attacked by the birds) and a little bit of horrification. ANYWAY, the two pigeons quickly realized that I was NOT in fact a large walking bread crumb or whatever lunchable they thought I was, and lost interest, flying away. Of course, the rest of the walk home I assumed I had contracted legionairre’s disease or psittacosis and went home to scrub and shower and take 10 vitamin Cs. ps: I’m not usually such a hypochondriac! but I’m sneezing as I write this! haha!
