Laura Emerick of the Chicago Sun Times was at last Tuesday’s Enrique Iglesias concert at the Rosemont Theatre where she said, “Iglesias reigned Tuesday night like the crown prince of Latin pop that he is.” Emerick adds, “Tuesday’s show triggered pangs of nostalgia for the early Enrique of ‘Experiencia Religiosa’ and ‘Enamorado Por Primera Vez.’ These earlier songs, though definitely romantic trifles, radiate a sunny innocence; but his latest disc, ‘Escape,’ displays an alarming degree of calculation and even smarminess.”
