Dave DiMartino of Launch.com caught up with Enrique Iglesias and asked the singer and son of Julio Iglesias if it was cool to be known or associated as the son of someone else. Enrique said, “I don’t even think about it. It’s never been anything negative in my life. I’m so proud of who I am and where I come from and who my father is. In school, kids never really looked at me a different way because I think it was a different generation; they didn’t really know who my father was. They just knew he was a singer. Maybe if my father would have been the guy from Twisted Sister or something like that, they would have been like, “Whoa!” But it didn’t really hit the generation I grew up with, my father’s music. It didn’t really change the way people act around me, when it came to my career and doing my own thing. I still never really think about it that much. It was never like people are going to be comparing me or saying I’m worse or better or anything like that. No, I never really thought about it.” Read more.
