‘Ever The Same’ Inspired By Rob Thomas’ Wife

Us Weekly spoke with matchbox twenty singer Rob Thomas about his new single ‘Ever The Same’, and its video which features his wife Marisol and actor Wilmer Valderrama. “Basically, the song says, ‘If you need me, I’m here’,” Thomas said. “It was the quickest I have ever written a song. It just came out. So it was really special to us.” And why did Wilmer sign on to be in the video? “When I was learning to speak English, his CD was one of the first purchases I ever made,” said Valderrama, who moved to Los Angeles from Venezuela in 1994. “I was able to sing in English because of his songs, so you know I’m a fan.”
