Joan Anderman of the Boston Globe gave a harsh review of Britney Spears’ show in Boston on Saturday. “Every feature of her career is rooted in and fueled by fantasy,” Anderman said. “The seductive songs written by middle-aged men, the doll-like perfection admired by young girls, the singing voice so processed by digital pitch-shifters and synthesizers she sounds more like a lusty droid than a flesh-and-blood person. Spears’s show is a sad, scintillating celebration of the dream.”
