Everything Mandy Moore Wants People To Know About ‘Saved!’
YM sat down with Mandy to talk about her newest film out Friday, ‘Saved!’
What’s unique about your role?
It’s an independent film about all these teens who are Jesus-centric, and I play an evil person. I wanted people to see that I’m not just a nice girl. Well, I am, but I can pretend to be a nasty one.
Jena Malone, Patrick Fugit, and Macauly Caulkin are also in the film. What was it like working with them?
It was so exciting to work with wonderful actors who are my age. I completely look up to them and respect their work.
How do you think people will react to your performance?
They’ll be surprised. Coming from pop music, where everything is so stereotyped and cookier-cutter, it’s fun to do things people wouldn’t expect.
It’s definitely thought-provoking, which could make it controversial and not a blockbuster. Do you get bummed when one of your movies doesn’t do well?
It’s disappointing, but you have to move on. You learn from every part and take those lessons with you.
