Jami Bernard of The New York Daily News reviewed Hilary Duff’s new film ‘A Cinderella Story’, giving the film only 1 1/2 stars. Bernard writes, “There’s nothing charming about ‘A Cinderella Story’, a flatfooted update of the familiar fairy tale crossed with the 1940 classic ‘The Shop Around the Corner’.” Bernard added, “The movie bursts with cheerful colors and a forced peppiness that tries to persuade the audience that, hey gang, we’re all having fun! But we’re not. The Prince (Chad Michael Murray) is a wet rag, the slapstick stepsisters are dull and even the fretful Sam (Duff) seems colorless.”
