Following Thursday night’s MTV Asia Aid event at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, fans of Christina Aguilera debated whether it was a bad move for the singer to bow out of the event after being scheduled to host when it was an awards show. Other American singers including Alicia Keys, Good Charlotte, Hoobastank, ‘American Idol’ season one champ Kelly Clarkson, Chester Bennington of Linkin Park, and Simple Plan, took part, while Aguilera has yet to explain on her official website or through the press why she was unable to attend. Maroon 5 also cancelled an appearance, though frontman Adam Levine of was on MTV’s ‘Total Request Live’ tonight to talk about the band’s help in raising funds for relief. ‘Unknownperson’ on her forum at LiveDaily.com commented, “This whole situation has made her look real bad and I think it should. I know the whole business aspect of it and of course she wasn’t sheduled to and yes it’s an entirely different show, but what changed? Same day, same place, same city, yet people decide not to go.” Christina’s Baby 128 countered, “I don’t understand why people here always have to look at Christina through the most negative lens. People find something negative in everything she does or doesn’t. My God, let her live HER life.”
