Georgia Bar Owner Racially Targets Jacko… Or Urban Myth?

According to several online postings, a sign greets patrons outside a bar in Paulding County, Georgia stating: “Is not guilty because he is a ni**** or [because he has] money?” According to the rumor, the bar’s owner, Patrick Lanzo, says the First Amendment protects his right to have the sign up concerning the singer’s acquittal on child molestation charges last year. The rumor adds that NAACP quickly responded to Lanzo’s sign, launching a petition to urge District Attorney Drew Lane to enact legislation that would force the sign’s removal. Check out the petition here. An online search shows that the majority of the postings about this originate from message boards, while no links to television or newspaper websites, or photographs of the offending sign, appear to exist.
