Daryn Kagan of CNN spoke with Mr. Moviefone, Russ Leatherman, on the new Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck starring ‘Gigli’, and like most every other critic, he hammered the film out today. “I have to tell you, Daryn, I didn’t think I’d see a movie this summer that would make ‘From Justin to Kelly’ look like a classic, but this is one of them,” he said. “It’s amazing because you have two huge stars, you have a good director, you have a bug budget, and to come out with a movie that’s just so absolutely flat with no charisma, it’s really sort of amazing.” He added, “The most amazing thing is that people are really jumping on this thing, right, like every critic across the country is taking the opportunity to just hammer this movie as hard as they can, maybe because Ben and Jen did so much publicizing of themselves, of the movie, of everything else.” Read more.

What’s an Oscar-winning actor like Ben doing in a movie like Gigli?
LOL @ Jennifer Lopez, J-Lo, Jenny, or whatever you want to call her. This movie has to be the worst ever. It makes Mariah Carey’s Glitter look so much better! I feel so sorry for Jen and Ben because this movie is a real sour note for both!
the difference between the two is that Justin and Kelly are BEGINNERS. for two experienced actors to completely bomb in this movie is very sad. I heard the script was good but they couldn’t pull it off. I think its the media that hyped up this movie to be “fantastic” because of all the publicity. now that the movie sucks and was a big disappointment, everybody is more eager to put it down to get more publicity out of it.
correct. that horrible movie gigg-ly makes the worst movies like swept away and horrid music videos like lady marmalade look beautiful. anyway, what can we expect from a woman who starred in movies with titles like anaconda?
ben-gay never won any Oscar as an actor. only as a writer. he is not an actor. he is an actress.
I agree with babet. Justin and Kelly are singers, not actors. But they gave the movie thing a try…and probably will again someday. Same with Mariah, “Glitter” was her first movie. So of course it’s not gonna be the greatest movie in history! Everyone has to start somewhere… But in Bennifer’s case, they are both somewhat established actors and should have better sense then to make a piece of crap movie! So it’s their own fault if it flops!
