Girls Aloud Cheryl Tweedy In Silent Depression

The Mirror reports Girls Aloud star Cheryl Tweedy is suffering from depression and record bosses are so worried about her they have ordered her to take the next few weeks off to “get herself together.” The singer is still upset over being found guilty of assaulting Sophie Amogbokpa. “She is like a different person,” an insider revealed. “Before all this happened she was the liveliest member of the group, but now she barely says a word. She thought her problems would be over when the case ended but she is even more miserable. She knows she has to do the community service but finds it very embarrassing.”

I’m appalled to read that this woman was given a “few weeks” to get herself together. Anyone who knows anything about suffering from depression knows this is a complicated disease which requires adequate time for treatment, whether pharmaceutical, behavioral, or both, to take effect.

The fact that depression is a highly individualized experience means not everyone recovers at the same rate.

Hopefully, Miss Tweedy received the proper medical attention she deserved. I also hope her record bosses never have to go through what she did.
