Guy Garvey: I Hate Robbie Williams

Elbow frontman Guy Garvey tells The Glasgow Daily Record he’s no fan of . “I love pop music if it is honest pop music but I can’t stand insincerity in music. I don’t believe . He’s insipid,” Garvey complained. “I saw ‘Swing When You’re Winning’ when he was pretending he was fit to kiss a distant relative of Frank Sinatra’s backside. He did Sinatra covers wired to the moon, saying, ‘this is for you mum’. No it’s not. I hate him. He tries to come across as a lovely local lad. He’s probably one of those kids who was popular with girls at school, had shiny shoes and straight As but was unhappy when he left school.”

I like Robbie Williams, he’s cheeky, arrogant, and actually pretty funny. he doesn’t take himself too seriously and he’s a bit neurotic, which makes him even funnier. Not to mention the fact that he’s a great singer and entertainer. I really got into him when I liven in Europe. apparently Americans don’t understand or appreciate him. then again, he didn’t really try to make it over here until after his second album. Not sure why.

Sorry but who the hell is Guy Garvey and Elbow!??!? He’s obviously using Williams for publicity. Who the hell cares about his opinion and who asked him in the first place?? He should get a life.

I hate Guy Garvey. I’m an adept listener to his radio show simply because I like some of the music he plays, but I find it laughable that he relates himself to some of the great artists he deems inspiring. His music is cheap chamber rock pretending to be spiritual and majestic. His constant comments of what he likes and what he doesn’t from music to actions just paint him as an eclectic snob who thinks he knows better anyone else, when I would say he’s the least musically knowledgeable BBC radio 6 presenter. He should really start keeping stupid comments like these to himself, if he did his show would be so much more bearable.
