‘Hannah Montana: The Movie’ Opening Day Box Office: $17.2 Million

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Miley Cyrus’ new film ‘Hannah Montana: The Movie’ is doing better than expected this Easter weekend, pulling in an estimated $17.2 million on its first day in theaters Friday. Showing in 3,118 theaters, the Disney Channel TV series spinoff should pass Miley’s 2008 3D concert movie ‘Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour’, which earned $31.1 million its opening weekend. The one day figure puts it on the top of the box office, taking out last week’s #1, ‘Fast & Furious’.

Great kids movie, very funny. The blue security golf cart Miley uses in the movie has been donated and will be raffled off with proceeds going to cancer research. Go to fiestaspanishhorse.org to see the golf cart and to get your raffle tickets. The raffle will be held May 2, 2009 during “Fiesta of the Spanish Horse” One more thing Miley has autographed the front of the golf cart, don’t miss out on this….
