The latest episode of Hanson’s ‘Taking The Walk’ series features the sibling trio in Atlantic City, New Jersey on the latest stop of the Walk Around the World Tour promoting Take The Walk, a charitable initiative that gives you simple tangible ways to take action against the HIV/AIDS pandemic and poverty in Africa through a small donation, the purchase of a pair of shoes, the download of a song or simply taking a one-mile walk.
“Last time we were here, I did get a little something in my foot, so please watch your step,” Taylor Hanson told the crowd joining in the walk through a megaphone. “These walks are barefoot, so we want to encourage you guys. The idea of the walk is we can connect with simple things, tangible things, and if you walk barefoot, you understand how simple things like even a pair of shoes can make a huge difference. The challenge for us started when we saw kids and people our age struggling with poverty and AIDS in Africa. What really struck us so powerfully was that we already have the tools that can be used to make a difference in lives and people that are struggling with disease and struggling with poverty. It’s not a question of us becoming something or not to make a difference, it’s about us realizing what we already have and using what we already have to help people that are less fortunate.”
