He May Be ‘Wacko,’ But Jackson’s Act Isn’t Funny

Mary Mitchell of the Chicago Sun-Times was highly critical of Michael Jackson after watching the King of Pop’s documentary with Martin Bashir. “That this 44-year-old man believes he is Peter Pan, admits that he never wants to grow up and invites unrelated children to sleep in his bed, yet is bombarded by adoring fans like he is an American hero, is an American tragedy,” Mitchell said. “Imagine what would happen if an average citizen put a brown paper bag over his child’s head to protect the child from public scrutiny every time the child ventured outside. We’d call him paranoid. Then we’d call the child abuse hotline.”
