Here’s what “theabominablehoman” wrote to popbitch.com about attending a listening party for Lily Allen’s sophomore album ‘It’s Not Me, It’s You’:
There was a launch thing for Lily Allen’s new music at Slim Jims last night. 50 tickets were made available for her fans to queue up for at yesterday lunchtime. Very few could be bothered. On the night about 30 people heard her album play out (I’d guess about 10 fans and 20 who had to be there for work), she didn’t show. Obsessive security put all electrical items in sandwich bags to be collected later and harassed me with a metal detector for ages (I must look shifty). The album was OK though to be honest, more of the same in most part. One track sounded a bit like the Cranberries.
