Hilary Duff Defends ‘Good Girl’ Image

Jim Derogatis of The Chicago Sun-Times caught up with Hilary Duff and asked the teen queen about her good girl image and infrequent costume changes while out on tour, unlike pop rivals Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, or Lindsay Lohan. “I do sweat and I do sing during the show — thanks for saying that — and I don’t change clothes,” Duff said. “I don’t feel comfortable being half naked in front of so many people. I don’t have anything against people who are comfortable with that; that’s their gig, and that’s cool. It’s just not me, so why do it? People talk about me and make snarky comments about me being ‘a good girl’ or ‘the girl next door’ or whatever. But I’d rather be seen as that than be seen with coke in my nose.”
