Hilary Duff checked in with fans on her blog at AOL’s KOL service on Wednesday (September 6) after her visit to New Orleans. “Wow! I went to New Orleans for the anniversary of Katrina,” she writes. “I was blown away. There is still a lot of work to be done and there are many people who are homeless and without food. We visited many schools and gave toys and food to shelters. I met many special people whom I would consider angels. These angels are giving from their hearts without getting anything in return. God bless the people of New Orleans. I encourage you to give anything that you might have to help these people who are in our own country. I work with Stan Curtis from USA HARVEST. I am humbled and in awe at all the heroes and people who keep on going and have not given up, in spite of losing so much. Forgive me if I sound corny but this is real and it could’ve happened to anyone in any city. I am grateful for this experience.”
