Hilary Duff performed ‘Wake Up’ and ‘Fly’ on ‘The Tonight Show with Jay Leno’ on Monday (August 15). In wake of her comments to MTV News, the black wig wearing teen queen performed to heavy backing audio except a brief moment during ‘Wake Up’, where she was heard singing ‘wake up, wake up” off-key. Viewers not watching the performance in HD may have had a hard time recognizing the miming, as Duff is proficient at the shielding technique of holding the mic with her hands wrapped around it as close to her mouth as possible – the practice which led to her front teeth getting chipped and being repaired with the much talked about veneers.
