Hilary Duff spoke with Seventeen about keeping her distance from the Hollywood “in crowd”. She explained, “I haven’t let myself become part of of that scene. I see how messed up it it. These people are disposable friends to each other, who talk bad about each other behind their backs. They won’t talk to each other if one of them is getting more press.” The teen queen admits she learned first hand what its like to be a target, too, clearing referring to rivals Avril Lavigne and Lindsay Lohan. Duff confessed, “That stuff bothered me so much. So much! I didn’t know why those people would say this stuff about me–I’d beat myself up over it and go crazy in my head, like, How can I make people stop talking bad about me?”
