Hilary Duff Wants Mom To Treat Her Like An Adult

Seventeen-year-old Hilary Duff won’t be legal until September 28th, but the teen queen tells J-14 that her responsibilities as a singer and actress make her feel like she’s an adult. She just wishes her mother would agree. “She gets a little worried that she gives me so much freedom,” Duff explained. “It’s kind of a security issue. And there’s one thing she does that drives me crazy. We’ll be at a restaurant and when I was younger she’d say to the waiter, ‘Oh Hilary will have the chicken fingers.’ She still does that! And I’m like, ‘I’m 17, I can order myself!’”
