For a second straight day, David Hinckley of The New York Daily News’ column is about Britney Spears’ shocking move to shave her own head, the latest move in the singer’s downward spiral. “She was first sold to us as a safe, bouncy bridge for kids who were past Spongebob, but not ready for Courtney Love,” Hinckley writes. “She fit the package brilliantly and we rewarded her by buying 76 million of her CDs and millions of her concert tickets. Trouble is, unlike Spongebob, she didn’t have eternal youth, and eventually, inevitably, she out-grew the packaging.”
