Hinckley: Nickelodeon Should Shelve ‘Zoey 101′
David Hinckley writes in the New York Daily News that Nickelodeon should cut ties with Britney Spears’ sister Jamie Lynn and not air season three of ‘Zoey 101′ for now being “an unmarried 16-year-old who announces her pregnancy on the cover of a magazine with a figurative shrug of ‘Oh well, whatever’.” He writes, “It can do this without thundering judgmental fury or self-righteous condemnation. It can maintain the appropriate compassion of its initial response, that her well-being is foremost. But at some point, if Nickelodeon keeps Spears on its airwaves, the network will seem to be saying that unmarried teen pregnancy, a major American problem, is negotiable if the unmarried teen is a good earner.” Read more.
