Hiring A Beefy Bodyguard Isn’t Enough Anymore

The New York Post reports on the new level of security celebrities are taking to protect themselves, namely former FBI and CIA specialists. Ben Affleck reportedly hired agents in a bid to protect fiance Jennifer Lopez. The types of security employed by Britney Spears, *NSYNC star Justin Timberlake, and Sean ‘P. Diddy’ Combs were criticized, appearing to be more for status than real protection. “I’ve seen Justin at Suite 16 with his bodyguard, and the bodyguard does nothing more than fetch Justin drinks,” says one publicist who asked not to be named.
