Associated Press reports that despite the awful opening for ‘Gigli’, the careers of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck will likely survive. “Nobody loses their job as a general proposition over one bomb,” said Kim Masters, a film columnist for Esquire magazine. The film’s producer may be the one in most trouble. “The one person who may have a hard time with their next project would be Martin Brest,” said Chris Gardner, who covers the movie business for the trade paper The Hollywood Reporter. “A lot of it at this point will fall on his shoulders.”

I think it’s stupid how Jennifer can make a bad movie and no one really bashes her for it.. her career will “survive” but when Mariah’s Glitter didn’t do a good job.. everyone and their mama, daddy, and grandma bashed and insulted her. I saw the movie and in all actuality.. it was not all THAT bad. over half the people who bash Mariah didn’t even see the movie so the whole thing is just STUPID.
I haven’t seen Glitter yet (but after so much talk about it I want to see it and judge for myself) so I cannot say it was a bomb. What I can say is that usually, a singer’s first movie receives a lot of flack from movie cynics…er critics, that are incredulous about how well a singer can act. Since Jennifer was first an actress then a singer, they don’t come down as hard on her. but you should have seen the music critics go off on her first album.. It’s all relative :)
true.. very true.. but that was because Jennifer REALLY CAN’T SING! lol.. if I can sing along to her music and sound just as good as her (and I can not sing well at all).. then that means that she can’t either. she makes catchy songs but it’s the music that’s carrying it.. not her voice.. unlike Mariah who blows you away every time :)
Yeah right. J.Lo and Ben are the laughing stock of Hollywood.
