How Avril Lavigne Will Change The World

Teen People caught up with 20 teens who will change the world, including Avril Lavigne. Asked what she has been doing to create that change, Lavigne said, “I work with War Child Canada to raise awareness about the plight of war-affected children. The organization recently made a CD called ‘Peace Songs-Moby’. David Bowie and other artists are on it. I sang ‘Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door’. The proceeds will go to helping girls in Uganda record from war and rape, and to rebuild Iraqi schools.” She added, “I hope my involvement will pique people’s interest in this cause. Everyone can make a difference.”

Tardy To Free Mall Concert

March 7, 2004 – The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports people who knew insisted that was on the Mall of America premises, downstairs in her lux bus, at least 15 minutes before her 5 p.m. concert Thursday. But Lavigne started her seven-song acoustic set 30 minutes late. A handler for the singer explained the singer was aware of the bus strike happening in the city and delayed taking the stage to give her fans more time to arrive. Some parents weren’t buying the excuse.
