‘Idol’ Producer Says Paula Abdul Is An Integral Part Of The Show
‘American Idol’ producer Ken Warwick spoke in support of Paula Abdul during a conference call about the show’s upcoming eighth season Monday afternoon with reporters as talk swired she may leave the FOX program. “America loves Paula. She’s an integral part of this program,” Warwick said. “Never have I been faced with anyone saying Paula’s got to go. She’s one of the foundation blocks of this series. She keeps Simon well in control.”
Warwick also echoed the comments of Nigel Lythgoe in saying that he had no idea Paula was so concerned about Paula Goodspeed, who apparently committed suicide outside Abdul’s home, when she auditioned for the show. “If the inference is that I would put someone in there because it would make good television… she certainly didn’t mention it to me,” Warwick said. “She certainly didn’t mention it to anybody with clout.” Read more.
