Wednesday night’s ‘American Idol’ results show, featuring a performance by Barry Manilow, averaged 27.3 million viewers and an 11.3 rating/26 share in the adults 18-49 demographic, according to preliminary data released Thursday by Nielsen Media Research. That was enough to make “Idol” the top show in primetime and lift Fox to a commanding win over the other networks.
