Illicit Drug Use Nullifies Michael Jackson’s Life Insurance Policy?
According to the $17.5 million Lloyd’s of London insurance policy AEG took out on Michael Jackson, which was obtained by the L.A. Times, illegal drug use was not covered. “This insurance does not cover any loss directly or indirectly arising out of, contributed, to, by or resulting from … the illegal possession or illicit taking of drugs and their effects,” the policy stated. The legal drug Propofol, which TMZ reports a lethal amount was in his system at the time of his death, could be qualify as illicit since the drug is only intended as an anesthetic in hospital use, not for home use.
