Terrina Hussein and Adly Syairi Ramly of the Malay Mail caught up with Natalie Imbruglia for a Q&A and asked the singer how she views her breakout smash ‘Torn’ today, seven years since its release and a track some consider an albatross which she hasn’t been able to top. “I was lucky to be given that song and to be able to make a connection with people all over the world. How fantastic! I mean, who would’ve thought or dreamed of something that amazing,” Imbruglia asked. “So, I think I’ve got quite a healthy attitude about it. Some people get really bitter and don’t want to sing the song that launched their career. I can understand that, if they really don’t like the song anymore. For me, I still like the song. Maybe because I didn’t write it, I can still have that appreciation for it, and yeah, it’ll still be in the set list if I go on tour.”
