‘In The Zone’ A Metaphor For Creative Bankruptcy

Jamie Gill of Dotmusic.com reviewed ’ new album ‘In The Zone’, giving it only 2 out of 10 stars. Gill writes, “In about a hundred years, some academic genius will write a dispassionate and wildly intelligent analysis of the late 20th and early 21st century which recognizes the vital importance that pop music – the most inventive and creative art form of that time – played. And in this book there will be a chapter entitled, simply, ‘ – why?'”

2 stars. Good job Britney! lol Yeesh, that’s harsh. This guy has never rated her well. Maybe next time? ‘In The Zone’ rocks!

  2. xyrus says:

You are right borntoplay.. this person gives this Britney a poor review rating for Jamie is jealous of “in the zone” and I’m sure its gonna be no1 in Billboard in the end.

  3. B0rntoplay says:

I didn’t say he was jealous. He just doesn’t seem to like her. The review was more about Britney than it was about ITZ. You can tell he dislikes her.

  4. webanging says:

This review barely talks about the album. It’s more a run down of her entire career talking about how some future society will look back on Britney’s place in pop music. The concept is idiotic. The dumb reviewer should stick to the album not making up some bull crap story about how people in a 100 years from now will look back on Britney. This is one of the poorest excuses for an album review to ever be written.

  5. B0rntoplay says:

I agree. It was obviously personal. He doesn’t like Britney, he showed it.

  6. Whatomat says:

What an arrogant troll… I wonder what a Jamie Gill album would sound like. Anyhow it doesn’t matter cause Brit is still number 2 in the UK charts and they show that on the dotmusic website!! And this a-hole was just looking for a chance to hate on Brit and look pseudo.intellectual!!! I am surprised they accepted this review.

  7. hellahooked says:

Oh well, she won’t always get a good review. I love this album, it’s so good!! The Hook Up, is CRAZY!

  8. FireorIce says:

Jealous of what? Everyone has been saying the same thing, her music is bad. Only ones buying it are her obsessed fans not one copy about 4. I happen to watch the news and they showed her signing at Virgin store and sure enough you saw fans buying at least 4 albums. As for being #1 I doubt it, if is it won’t be for long, because lets face rush out to buy on the first week, but after that it will fall.

  9. Danisha says:

I couldn’t agree more with this reviewer. Musically, ITZ is just as insipid as all of her other stuff. She never brings anything interesting to the table and now people are finally seeing she’s always been all hype and no talent. Her videos are loved by the TRL masses, but she’s failed to pick up actual ADULT music fans who don’t give a f**k about TRL and only care about music and talent. She thinks she can win us over by being half naked on the cover of magazines? Uh..no. Grown pop fans who listen to Coldplay, Xtina, Pink, etc aren’t going to waste money on Spears. She’s a pathetic, no talent waste of space.

  10. MariahCareyFreak says:

You don’t know what it feels like to have someone really your favorite artist! Ya I’m pissed! Mariah Carey don’t have a Star in Hollywood but Britney does! Mariah has sold more albums and has more #1 hits! Have people just forgotten what Mariah & Whitney! Whats up with this? Not that Britney shouldn’t get a Star! But what about Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston. It’s time to get credit where credit is do!

I don’t care for Brit (for many reasons) BUT there are musicians & singers who are critically acclaimed who every now and then put out a CD that just doesn’t cut it. Brit did the best she could with the producers her team hired. She sells image & commercial products, anyway.
