Industry Awaits ‘Bloodbath’ at Sony BMG
Many observers tell Reuters that much will be done in the next four to six months with the merger announcement by BMG and Sony Music. “To focus on efficiencies and deliver the savings they announced, they will have to act fairly quickly, especially in the main territories such as the U.S., the U.K., Germany and France,” one observer said. “And this will also have a devastating effect on the artist roster.”
