When Thalia was first courted for ventures, the singer had to battle concepts built on stereotypes. “Before, [they wanted] the ‘classic’ Latino girl with the red dress, the flower in her hair, doing the cha-cha,” Thalia told The New York Daily News. “But the Latin woman is not like that. We are so different. Finally, they are starting to see that now.” Now, she’s built a fashion and music empire that rivals Jennifer Lopez and Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.
