Ja Rule Would Feel Safer As Justin Timberlake

The New York Times profiled the dangers present for today’s top hip hop artists, something Ja Rule says isn’t a problem for equally successful white pop stars. “If I was , I wouldn’t have to walk around with a gun and knife,” he said, referring to the *NSYNC star. “But I’m not. I’m Ja Rule.” He added that as his fame growns, so does his fear, mainly from his others of his own race. “It’s sad, because that feeling is mainly towards my black people,” he said. “When my white fans come around, I don’t feel uneasy, like they want to harm me. But when I’m around a whole group of black people, a defense comes on. That’s the tragedy of this.” Read more.
