Compared to ’s previous four releases ‘Damito Jo’ is exceeding ‘The Velvet Rope’ and ‘Design of a Decade’ however underperforming ‘All For You’ or ‘janet’. According to Nielsen SoundScan, ‘Damita Jo’ has sold 652,000 copies in the United States in its first four weeks of release. Janet’s 2001 album ‘All For You’ sold 1.3 million units in its first month, while 1997′s ‘The Velvet Rope’ moved 479,000 during its first. In the same amount of time ‘Design of a Decade’ (1995) and ‘janet’ (1993) sold 907,000 and 399,000 copies.
